papago park| hole in the rock

Bringing you more pictures of the desert!
I can't get enough of this place of red rocks with holes! I've been out to Papago Park three times now, a couple times with extended family and once on our own adventure.  I hadn't been since I was a little girl. My dad would take us but I don't have any clear memories of those visits so it's harder for me to remember all of the details. I made sure I got plenty of pictures this time around. Now I won't forget what the views are like up there or the beautiful shapes and colors of the rocks.

It's a unique little spot! You climb up, sit in the hole, and and take in the views. We've been lucky to get the entire hole all to ourselves. I guess nobody wants to be up there in 110 degree weather. I think it's worth being in the heat for just a short time. I was happy to get a variety of pictures from different angles and different times of the day. It really is a beautiful spot. One of my favorites in the valley!

We saw a snake slither across a path! It was an exciting moment for us. I am sure the park is crawling with such creatures and are often spotted by regular hikers, but it was fun to witness nonetheless.

  1. I'm amazed you guys are in long pants in 110 degree weather. I would be sweating and it doesn't even look like you two broke a sweat. Amazing!
