Weekend Lens

I love the overlapping leaves and color here.

This Mother's Day I got to witness Thomas Pearson get baptized in the Catholic Church. This was my first experience to witness a catholic baptism and to attend a Latin Mass. It was a different church setting than what I am used to. There was chanting, incense, icons, kneeling and did I mention Latin? Most of it I didn't understand but it sounded beautiful. I don't know about you but I happen to like the chanting part. I took the service handout with me to add to my life journal (that's what I am calling it now) and on my way home I continued with the chanting in the car for my family. My kids were not pleased and then David joined in too! I had fun!

This big guy (or is it female?) has a home in the ground right outside our back door. I caught him out and about searching for food. Last spring we had a racoon living in our shed who had babies (about four) which were so cute. I wonder if we'll have baby groundhogs this spring? That would be cool!

After creeping up on the groundhog my attention turned to other things like the rooftops of different building structures that I can see from my back doorstep. I never knew there was this old arrow on top of our carport.

One child of mine is really into astronomy.

     More rooftops.
