away for the weekend

This weekend we are relaxing in Holland Michigan. Take a look at our amazing hotel room. It's so modern. The furniture is situated so differently. The beds are back to back with it's own TV. The shower is like 3 times bigger than mine at home and is my favorite feature. There's so much space! It's true, I just "stepped into comfort," (off of one of their signs in the room). It's also environmentally friendly where they use less water and recycled items for decor.

City Flats Hotel is definitely 5 starts and more. Very clean. Simple.

They're never gonna want to leave. Look at how at home they are. I'll have to pull them away from those screens. We don't have cable at home so this is like Disneyland for them. They'll love it when I mention that we'll be checking out a few thrift store tomorrow and will be working on homework.

Loving this big, big window -another favorite feature. I can't wait to open the curtains in the morning to let in natural light. The lighting in here is dim but perfect for now in the evening.

As we were driving in I spotted some antique and second hand thrift stores. Gonna have to check those out tomorrow. The kids and I are on our own here while David is attending a conference so I picked up 2 Holland information magazines. Hopefully we can find some fun things to do and cute shops to visit. We've been here a few times before but never stayed more than a day and certainly never a whole weekend. I am looking forward to exploring this place again and eating at my favorite Mexican place, Ray's Tamales (if they are open during the winter). The best in the Midwest!
