Planting a Veggie Garden

We have never planted anything before and decided to do it now because it just seems like the thing to do here. After a long winter of hibernating you just want to do any activity that involves being outside. We really don't know much about gardening so we'll see how it goes and if you have any sdvice we'd love to hear. Maybe it will turn out that someone in our family has a green thumb. We planted tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers and cilantro.
